Safe Lifting

For a business, lifting operations are considered high-risk activities. It requires careful planning prior to these activities taking place. However, accidents involving lifting equipment are always the result of improper or unsafe lifting operations. This includes overloading the equipment and the use of defective or unsafe lifting gears or devices.

It is vital that all operators have the appropriate material lifting equipment on hand when they need it. Potential hazards should always be considered in order to try and prevent them from happening. Considerations should be made when selecting and purchasing new equipment, how to prevent injuries and carrying out associated assessments, and finally routine monitoring and maintenance.
